This episode originally aired on YouTube on June 21st 2024 - We’re almost caught up with all the episodes to date y’all! As we planned to make the transition to audio focused streaming platforms, the dead prez “Hip-Hop” episode saw us trying to elevate the audio quality with proper mic set ups. We ran into a lot of problems with this set up. The mic’s sound never came in properly through our setup. Kalashnikov Red’s mic was way lower than Johnny Warbux’s and during the break down of our setup, we broke one of the connectors for the mic stand (and ripping a hole into our branded table cloth to boot). The transition proved difficult but we navigated through it to bring you a dope episode about a group, a song and an album we feel is a must listen to for anybody who considers themselves a hip-hop fan. So we hope you enjoy the episode and ask for any all feedback you can give us. Please like, subscribe, follow, rate and review the show on your favorite streaming platforms and ask that you share this episode with other Hip-Hop heads in your life!

This episode originally aired on YouTube on May 6th 2024. Another thematic episode, we released the 2Pac “Dear Mama” show the week leading up to Mother’s Day and it was the second one of two back to back recordings we did. Like the previous episode, we noticed this show had a handful of video glitches, freezing our images up, after its release. It was the catalyst that sparked our decision to focus our energy on audio only formats. We’ll still be releasing our video episodes on our YouTube channel, we’re just eliminating all of the editing where we apply pictures to the show and are redirecting the time it takes to do that to record back to back episodes so we can deliver our fans more content in a more interactive way. The format will slightly change so we can include comments from our fans and listeners. To be a part of the show, follow us on our new InstaGram page @RememberTheRecord and follow us on FaceBook at The Rapper’s Corner. We wrapped up on the two final shows that were done in this original format and will release those two episodes over the next two weeks. Please like, comment, subscribe, rate, review & follow us on all social media platforms to help us continue to build this community. We look forward to interacting with and getting to know our listeners a little better in the near future and thank you to all of those who’ve been rocking with us from day one! We can’t wait to bring you even more content than ever and hope y’all enjoy the show!

This episode originally aired on YouTube on April 29th 2024. The Kris Kross “Jump” episode was the show that lead us to pivoting to audio focused platforms. For reasons outside of the pod, Kalashnikov Red & Johnny Warbux, agreed to make two episodes back to back in a single day. That’s set up, recording, breaks, editing and rewatching the entire shows to locate time stamps for photos, etc. it became an all day affair. On top of that, both videos had glitches in them and we couldn’t edit them after the fact without compromising our audio integrity. So this was when we decided to make our switch. Also, we had issues with our host cleaning up the audio for this specific episode and ended up having to post the raw audio rip from YouTube. Let us know how it sounds! We hope you enjoy this light hearted and funny episode. You will hear it when you hear this, but, we were really having fun recording this one. Thanks to everyone who are rocking with us during these growing pains. We appreciate all of y’all!

This episode originally aired on YouTube on March 25th 2024. We’re going to be catching up to our current episode soon here Corner Stoners! The big take aways from this particular show, dedicated to Hit ‘Em High by The Hip-Hop Monstars, is this is the first episode we did that was on a large (not already a group) posse cut. It’s the first song released on an original motion picture soundtrack. It’s the first song we’ve covered inspired by cartoons (as well as sports!). It’s the first one where we couldn’t produce a proper playlist on Spotify because the song and most of the soundtrack isn’t available on that platform. We had a blast with this one though and we hope you all enjoy it as well. Leave a comment and let us know what posse cut we should cover next on Remember The Record!

***EDITOR’S NOTES***
This episode originally aired on YouTube on February 14th 2024. Keeping up with our thematic traditions we ran with a new Valentine’s Day inspired record. Last year we went with a falling in love / having a crush theme so this time around we wanted to review a record that supports the opposite side of the coin, the heart ache, love sick side. Psycho Realm’s “Love From The Sick Side” gives us not only that, but a chance to cover a group that wasn’t on that mega star level, reminding our listeners that we will cover any Hip-Hop or rap music adjacent song, regardless of commercial success so long as we like the music or think it would make for a good episode. As always, we ask that you hit the like button, follow our podcast, leave a comment and review of the show and share this with other Hip-Hop heads in your life. Thanks again for the continued support from our listeners and we plan to repay y’all by getting you involved in future episodes soon!

***EDITOR’S NOTES***this episode first released on YouTube on January 10th 2024. This marks the swcond installment to our annual Happy Wu Year episodes. We decided to branch out from the main line up and give one of our favorite, more underground, jams a try. This opened the gates to consider future not quite as mainstream as other artist we’ve highlighted on the show. But this one is very funny and filled with lots of jewels about the song and the album its feature on, The Swarm. By the end of our first quarter, one of the artists from the group, Christ Bearer, heard snippets of the review and shared props and tagged others into the posts. It was super legit as we’ve been listening to him and his crew for quite some time! ***EDITOR’S NOTES***
This episode originally aired on YouTube on November 7th, 2023. Another seasonally thematic episode, in honor of both Kalashnikov’s indigenous roots and November being American Indian Heritage Month, we agreed to do an episode on Funkdoobiest and their west coast classic “Rock On”. This would be considered our first episode diving into a song that isn’t as widely popular on the mainstream circuit and would be more par for the course for several episodes until later in the first quarter of 2024. Also, as we had just recently starting backdrop music to the show, we acknowledged that the instrumental was a touch too loud on the episode and moving forward made a permanent adjustment to the volume so it was easier to listen to us speak on the topic for future episodes. We hope you enjoy this deep cut episode and continue to follow us along the development of the show as changes continue to grow in the next few episodes to come.

This episode first aired on YouTube on October 9th 2023. Another seasonal themed episode, we chose this record as it ties into the Halloween theme. We started leaning much more heavily into photos for the YouTube video at this point so you’ll hear a lot of references to that. ***EDITOR’S NOTES***
This episode originally aired on YouTube on September 8th 2023. At this point in our show we created a multiple 8.0-8.4 series that isn’t complete by the time of this stream release. We’ll revisit it in the new year. We also finally corrected the episode listings here by titling it episode 10. Our first episode (currently only available on YouTube) was marked as a Pilot, however, Johnny Warbux kept referring to each episode as an installment so episode 1 was our 2nd installment and so on. We finally just corrected this on all fronts to match all releases. So it may look like we’ve skipped an episode here, but the reality is, we just matched the installment number with the release number. This is the first episode where we began releasing a short description of the video on YouTube as well as promotional hashtags and time stamps! This episode was also controversially released around the time that the “slap heard around the world” occurred between Will Smith and Chris Rock. We wanted to do an end of summer song where we could tie in the fall season ahead and The Fresh Prince’s catalog was perfect for that transition as we explain in the show. We hope you enjoy the show for what it is focused on, the love of this song and the musical legacy/impact this record had/has on the globe. Once again, please rate and review this show on whatever streaming platform you’re enjoying it on and share it with other Hip-Hop heads you know in your life.
